A Little Fun Forest Whimsy
The FRIENDS OF THE FOREST stamp set gives me such a youthful and whimsical feeling. And I love, love, love how the DEER BUILDER punch will punch the deer stamped image exactly! But I couldn't stop there. I wanted the tree and bird to have that cut out look so as you can see I did a little "fussy cutting" with my PAPER SNIPS scissors. (I have to admit it really wasn't too painful). Then of course I "popped up" those images with Stampin' Dimensionals because everything is better with a little extra dimension! I tied it all together with a little white frame using the STITCHED RECTANGLE dies.
For the background I used the BEAUTY OF THE EARTH Designer Series Paper. I tore a 2" x 5-1/4" (5 cm x 14.4 cm) strip of DSP and layered them together for the grass. I also stamped the toadstools and flower stamp directly onto the DSP in Mossy Meadow ink. I used Stampin' Blends for all of the images. But look closely at the toadstools and flowers and you will see some white touches. I used a White Craft ink refill and a toothpick to add those.
I also had a lot of fun stamping and coloring a piece for the inside of my card. I stamped the images on a separate piece of Basic White cardstock because I wanted to use Stampin' Blends to color the images and there is always a little bleed through on the back side. I cut my Basic White cardstock to fit exactly the inside at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (10.5 cm x 14.9 cm) then I attached the stamped piece to the inside of the card base.
Now I just have to decide who will receive this fun card!
