Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Sentimental Swirls of Flowers

We have a great blog hop for you this month. Our April Paper Crafting Blog Hop theme is flowers. There are so many fun projects and design styles from this group of talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the globe! Be sure to stop at each of our blogs. You may have arrived from Annette's blog. Did you love her project?

It's Blooming Easy...

to create this fabulously floral card when you use punches! The SENTIMENTAL SWIRLS stamp set has images that match perfectly with the FLOWERS & LEAVES punch and the soon to be retired STRAWBERRY BUILDER punch. (Note: if you have come across this blog post after May 2nd, 2022---or after supplies have run out of the STRAWBERRY BUILDER punch---the small flowers are very easy to fussy cut to get this same look).

The stamps in this set are 2-step stamps with matching outline and solid images. I stamped the outline images of the leaves and flowers with full strength ink and then stamped off the solid images of the leaves and flowers (on scratch paper) before stamping over the lined images to get a lighter shade of the same color. The colors used are: SOFT SUCCULENT, PALE PAPAYA, POLISHED PINK and FRESH FRESIA.

I also shaped the flowers and leaves with my fingers and used small dimensional pieces under the petals of the larger flowers. The CHAMPAGNE RHINESTONE basic jewels and the LOOSE FLOWER FLOURISHES make great accent embellishments and add lots of fun texture.

Look closely and you can see the additional layer of texture created with the BRICK & MORTAR 3D embossing folder. (Hint: stamp the large swirl image on the cardstock and then run the stamped layer through the STAMPIN' CUT & EMBOSS die cutting machine with the BRICK & MORTAR embossing folder).

I hope you have enjoyed my flower project for this hop. Feel free to CASE it (just copy the link to the title of this blog post when you post on a blog or social media please 😃). Use the comments section below to tell me your favorite elements of this card, or even ask me a question!

Multicolored Strip Background - Cardstock Blog Hop

Cardstock Strips Jazz Up A Background

This post is part of the Crafty Collaborations Cardstock Blog Hop. I'm sure you will find A LOT of inspiration in today's hop, so be sure to visit all of the blog pages listed below!

One of my favorite ways to showcase cardstock in my projects is to create a multicolored background using cardstock strips. It's especially awesome when I can find scrap strips of the colors I want to use already in my stash!

For this card I used cardstock strips in a rainbow spectrum wide enough to cut out the small heart die In the limited edition HERE FOR YOU die set. I used cardstock strips that are 3/4" (2 cm) wide and that are the width of my card base. I then used the hearts that were cut out inside the card.

The black & white sentiment looks striking next to the bright cardstock colors of this project. And I really like the HEART Punch Pack to mirror the heart die cut-out sections. And of course adding some bling with the rhinestones and with white ribbon really embellishes the cardstock background. (All supplies used are listed below my signature line).

As you can see my card project uses elements from the HERE TOGETHER Bundle. I took my outside and inside sentiments from the stamp set. and the small heart from the die set. Both of these items are limited edition items that are only available through May 2nd, 2022 (while supplies last).

Check out my how-to video for this project, including my tip for taping the cardstock strips together before attaching to the front of your card. Measurements are included also.
